Spotify is finally making it easier to ditch your old music app. The streaming giant has rolled out a new integration with TuneMyMusic, allowing users to import playlists from other music services directly within the Spotify mobile app.
Spotify adds TuneMyMusic to the mobile app
The new feature is now live for all users and can be found in the “Your Library” section of the app. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and you’ll spot a new option: “Import your music.” Tap it, and Spotify will walk you through connecting to TuneMyMusic.
From there, you can choose the service you’re coming from like Apple Music or YouTube Music, and transfer your playlists into your Spotify library.
Transfers don’t remove original playlists
This tool doesn’t delete your old playlists or move them, it simply copies them over to Spotify. That makes it easy to test it out without losing your carefully curated collections elsewhere.
At launch, supported services include:

- Amazon Music
- Tidal
- Pandora
- SoundCloud
- Deezer
- And more
Built-in playlist transfers give Spotify a competitive edge
Spotify’s rivals have had transfer features for a while now. Apple Music, for example, lets users migrate playlists via iOS and Android. YouTube Music Premium also supports importing playlists from other platforms, including Spotify itself.
But until now, Spotify users had to rely on external tools like the web version of TuneMyMusic, which limited free transfers to 500 tracks. Going beyond that meant paying for a premium plan. With native integration, it now removes that friction point a smart move to attract users considering a switch.
TuneMyMusic deal brings benefits for both parties
Spotify hasn’t disclosed the details of its partnership with TuneMyMusic. Still, the integration likely works in both companies’ favor. It can streamline onboarding for new users, while TuneMyMusic gains visibility by embedding directly into the world’s biggest streaming service.
One less reason to stay with your old music app
With playlist transfers now baked into the app, Spotify has erased one of the biggest pain points for users thinking about switching. If you’ve been on the fence about migrating from Apple Music or YouTube Music, the process just became a whole lot easier.
